Corrections & changes

Report an error to desk@informationsuperconductor.com with the page, the item and a link to a public source that shows the correct information (an official record, the candidate’s own page, a dated news report). We check it against that source and list every correction and every update here, dated. Know a public source we are missing? Contribute it (free). Candidates, campaigns and parties get no priority and no control over what appears here or how it is shown: their reports and contributions are checked by the same published criteria as everyone else’s.

• Sep 28, 2026 — Race pages for U.S. Senate — Texas and U.S. House — Ohio District 7 first published.
• Sep 28, 2026 — Update: added 5 dated reports from Sept. 23–24 — Texas: no debate had taken place as of Sept. 24 (per The Texas Tribune), the Paxton campaign’s stated objection to the CNN debate, Talarico’s proposal of a Fox News debate; Ohio 7: Rep. Miller’s repeated denial of the allegations, Brian Poindexter’s resignation from Brook Park City Council. 28.
• Sep 29, 2026 — Update: added one dated report — Houston Public Media (Sept. 28): combined advertising by both Texas Senate campaigns and the groups supporting them passed $153 million by mid-September, per AdImpact. 29.
• Sep 29, 2026 — Update: added each Texas Senate candidate’s stated position on suspending the federal gas and diesel taxes, as quoted by Houston Public Media (Sept. 28).
• Sep 29, 2026 — Update: added both Ohio 7th District candidates’ answers to the Akron Beacon Journal questionnaire (Sept. 29) on four matching topics — tariffs, health care, the southern border, abortion — one answer per candidate per topic, verbatim.
• Sep 30, 2026 — Update: Texas — Fox News said on Sept. 29 it would host a debate if both candidates commit, with the Paxton campaign’s stated position on debating as reported (Houston Chronicle); both major candidates’ positions on data centers as reported by the Houston Chronicle (Sept. 28).
• Oct 3, 2026 — Corrections, after an independent content check: ten one-line summaries in the "Summary" layout said more than their cited quote or title supports — they now state only what the source shows (e.g. Talarico’s background line, the primary-result line, the Q2 fundraising line, the debate-status line, Poindexter’s council resignation, Miller’s campaign-loan line). Added Talarico’s own second-quarter fundraising figure (Texas Tribune, July 8) beside Paxton’s. Retrieval times of items added since Sept. 28 now show the actual fetch time (previously one fixed time). The privacy notice now lists every cookie and every field we record per visit, and both retention periods.
• Oct 4, 2026 — Update: Texas — outside spending: Texas PAC, a group supporting Paxton, reported more than $61.4 million in spending over two days, and Democratic groups backing Talarico are increasing their spending plans (Axios, Oct. 1).
• Oct 5, 2026 — Update: Ohio 7th — the Cook Political Report rating history (Solid Republican → Likely Republican → Toss Up) and Poindexter’s stated priority, cost of living, as reported by Ideastream Public Media (Oct. 1).
• Oct 6, 2026 — Update: the Texas ad-spending page (published Oct. 6) now also shows the two Oct. 1 Axios items on outside spending (Texas PAC’s reported $61.4 million over two days; Democratic groups backing Talarico increasing their plans), which were already on the Texas race page since Oct. 4.
• Oct 7, 2026 — Update: Texas — both major candidates answered the same questions from the U.S. Hispanic Business Council in separate interviews; KXAN (Oct. 3) reported their positions on cost of living (Paxton’s tax-deduction plan; Talarico on building more homes) and immigration (Paxton: work authorization only after the border is secured; Talarico: more legal pathways), and that as of Oct. 3 it was still unclear whether they would debate.
• Oct 9, 2026 — Update: Texas — President Trump said on social media that the candidates should debate; Talarico agreed; as of Oct. 8 no debate was scheduled and Paxton had not publicly responded; advertising in the race passed $247 million (AdImpact). Source: The Washington Times, Oct. 8.
• Oct 9, 2026 — Integrity removal: we removed 11 items — 2 from Axios (Oct. 1), 5 from KXAN Austin (Oct. 3) and 4 from The Washington Times (Oct. 8) — and the page "the same questions to both major candidates" built from the KXAN items. Our copies of those articles were obtained after the publishers' websites had refused our automated request; we do not use material obtained that way. The same facts may return later from sources that allow access. Other quotations stay, each with its link to the publisher.
• Oct 9, 2026 — Correction: we removed the item on race ratings in Ohio's 7th District (Cook Political Report, as reported by Ideastream). Our criteria leave out polls and race ratings; that item should not have been added. We also simplified the page text: it now says what you need as a voter and leaves out notes about our own process.
• Oct 10, 2026 — Update: the Texas Senate race page now lists the official voting rules in plain words — election day, the registration deadline, early voting (Oct. 19–30), the accepted photo IDs, where to find your polling place, and who can vote by mail and by when — each line linked to VoteTexas.gov (Texas Secretary of State).
• Oct 10, 2026 — Update: the Texas voting rules now also give Election Day polling hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.), how long an expired photo ID still counts, what to do without a photo ID, which number to write on a mail-ballot envelope, and when a mailed ballot must arrive — each from the Texas Secretary of State.
• Oct 10, 2026 — Criteria: added rule 6 "No sides" — an item goes in or stays out on the published rules alone; we never add or leave out an item to balance candidates, parties or political sides. Earlier, on Sept. 30, one interview (CBS News, Sept. 9) was held back "to keep reported items balanced"; re-checked under the rules it stays out because it concerns campaign advertising (rule 5), and that is now the recorded reason.
• Oct 10, 2026 — Update: five Texas voting lines now follow the Texas Secretary of State’s wording more closely — who may vote by mail (adds civil commitment and “confined in jail but otherwise eligible”, and “three weeks before or after” election day), what to bring without one of the seven accepted photo IDs (a current utility bill, bank statement, government check or voter registration certificate), that the ID number goes on both the mail-ballot application and the carrier envelope, the application cutoff (close of regular business or 12 noon on Oct. 23, whichever is later), and that ballots mailed from overseas and some military ballots have later deadlines.
